PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To manage and coordinate all activities related to emergencies in THE ORGANIZATION and other subsidiaries so as to ensure the health and safety of all employees working on the premises, protect assets and prevent any fire-related incidents.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Contribute to the development of the divisional / departmental strategy and support effective cascading of the departmental strategy into section’s policies and procedures in line with the overall business objectives of the HSE department.
- Review the effectiveness of fire procedures and fire equipment continuously and recommend changes/improvements where necessary to ensure that these are up-to-date in case of an incident.
- Conduct site visits and brings any potential fire hazards to the attention of the concerned parties for appropriate action to ensure that they can be dealt with in a timely manner.
- Ensure that the fire equipment are maintained on a regular basis in order to ensure its functionality when needed.
- Investigate all fire incidents involving company and contractors' personnel, analyze causes, determine future actions to reduce these occurrences and prepare reports on all such incidents.
- Develop annual drill plan, ensure emergency drills are conducted on a regular basis so as to ensure fire equipment are functioning properly, issue drill reports and take follow up corrective actions
- Monitor the practice drills scenarios to ensure that employees know what to do in an emergency.
- Liaise with all concerned departments regularly to ensure suitable procedures and systems are in place thus ensuring proper coordination.
- Coordinate the firefighting activities with Mesaieed Fire Brigade Civil Defense and MIC Emergency Centre to ensure in case of emergencies prompt and immediate help can be called for.
- Participate and support the fire awareness and training programs.
- Provide support to all departments on implementing fire safety procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum Qualifications:
- B.Sc. in Safety and Firefighting
- Professional qualification in NFPA 1041 Instructor Level 1 or higher is preferable
Minimum Experience:
- 9 years’ experience in the management of fire & rescue services.
